How To Tuesday

For today's "How To Tuesday" post design team member Ginger Williams demonstrates one of her favorite techniques for making paper flowers.  Here's what Ginger had to say ... "I love to make paper flowers! There are so many fun and different ways to create them and I love coming up with different types! Today I'm going to show you how to make a paper sunflower. Sunflowers aways remind me of fall and it just seemed like the perfect project now that the weather is starting to turn chilly and crisp here in Texas."

The first step is to punch or cut some circle. I used a 1 3/4" circle punch on my flower. Punch one from brown patterned paper and one from yellow.

Cut the brown circle into a spiral.

Fold the edges of the spiral in half.

Curl the folded edges of the spiral up to form the flower center. Glue down with hot glue to help the flower center to stay very secure.

Glue the flower center into the middle of the yellow circle.

Clip the edges of the yellow circle all around the brown flower center to form the petals.

Repeat all steps 2 more times to make 3 total flowers.   Lay out your card base.

Hand cut stems and leaves for your flowers and adhere to the front of your card.

Add a strip of paper across the bottom of the card and add Candy Dots.

Cut a sentiment for the card. I used my Cricut to cut my sentiment out of cardstock.

Add to card and enjoy!

Thanks for this wonderful tutorial. I saw the folded edges in my Scrapbooks etc, but couldn't figure out how to do it. I tried after I glued (doesn't work).
