Notebook & Book Paper Challenge!

Hi everyone and welcome. My name is Marielle and it's my pleasure once again to be your host this week. The challenge I had given the design team was to create a layout or card using notebook or book paper in addition to their stash of Pebbles supplies. As you will see in this blog post, they did a terrific job! Thank you ladies for these amazing creations!
Hugs,
Marielle

"The ark" by Celeste Smith.

Celeste added some book paper to her beautiful layout using the Lil' Miss collection.

"First picture" by (new mommy Cherie Nymeyer)

Cherie used 2Peas Sande Krieger Digital Notebook Kit for journaling on her beautiful layout of her newborn boy and Lil' Buddy collection.

"The Simple Things" by Pam Callaghan.

Pam used some notebook paper for her journaling and the Downtown collection.

"Day 1- take two" by Christa Paustenbaugh.

Christa punched circles out of a book, distressed the edges just a bit and inked them too! She used Lil' Buddy paper and made her own notebook paper with a journal stamp. So very clever!!!

"Thinking Of You Card" by Ginnifer Maloney.

Ginnifer used regular lined notebook paper to make the lollipop flower. She crumpled them then chalked with pebbles chalk. What a great idea!!

"Love you" by Suzanne Sergi.

Suzanne used notebook paper as her background and So Tweet collection on her beautiful layout.

And this is my contribution to this challenge.

"My Boy" by Marielle Leblanc.

I used graphic paper for my background and book paper (from one of my boys very abused book!!) I made the "boy" letters and used one sheet as a layer on my layout.

We hope to have given you a few inspirations here today, I'll be back later on during the week!!

Roll it ; Fold it ...

Hi All, hope you had a nice week...

Have u noticed making your own embellishment is so popular right now ?
The strip of paper mustn't be over looked and undervalued i thought ...
So, i did some experimenting , folding, rolling and had some fun with paper.

This is what i did with my hand made embellishment (if i may call it that)... :)

I used up left over pattern papers and felt great to help save the earth a little.
Here are a few simple steps :

1. i punched out a few squares ( you will need 12 of these)

2. Roll the corners and hot glue the ends (where the two corners meet). Press and hold the ends for a few seconds... careful it can be hot.
Repeat with the rest of the squares.

3. Arrange the cone shapes in a circular manner and eventually you will create a simple cone-petaled flower.

Easy isn't it...
hope you take a second look at those left overs !

have a restful weekend ! :)

They speak so clearly in their own language.

Happy Valentine's Day

I created this layout Love This Hobby to honor the crafting that so many of us adore. Scrapbooking has become such a rewarding part of my life because of all the friends and opporunity it has sent my way. I could not imagine life without it. I used an older Pebbles collection called Sweetheart which is still available at the Pebbles online store. Please visit my blog for a tutorial on how create the lace doily.

Mireille Divjak captured this fun moment with her daughter and friend using the Pebbles Skipping Along collection. She also added some beautiful punch work and faux stitching to add to the youthful feeling of this layout.

Samantha Sibbet created this special card using a combination of the Skipping Along papers and the So Tweet stickers. The Pebbles chip heart, tulle and button add just the right amount of embellishment to make this card a stunner.

Sophia Allison created these adorable tags for her daughters' teachers. They are perfect for the potted plants and add such a personal touch to the gifts. The softer colors of Pebbles Lil' Miss collection are just right.

Coverlift challenge...

Hi All!  Lisa Warren here.  I hope you've been enjoying all the Valentine's Day inspiration the team has been sharing this week.  That reminds me...better go make my hubby a card...

Do you ever see a layout and are instantly inspired by it?  I do. All the time.  There are so many talented scrapbookers in the world, and sometimes when you see a layout, you just have to create straight away!  Recently I was checking out all the craft magazines at the newsagency, and I was instantly drawn to the cover of Scrapbook Trends.  This layout by Susan Weinroth is just divine!
I love how the photo is off centre, that she's stuck to one colour for lettering, patterned paper and embellishments, and also all the little embellishments contained in the random circles.  So much fun...I wanted to have a go myself!  I challenged the team to have a go too, and here's what we came up with...

Here's my take...I've used patterned paper from the "So Tweet" collection as well as white Pebbles chips.  I love how Susan spread her title over two lines, and as it happened, her title fit my layout perfectly.  I wanted to add the blue from Susan's layout, but give it a bit more punch of colour.  The end result is a fun, girlie layout that my daughter loves!

Mirielle Divjak created this gorgeous layout!  She has swapped out the punched circles for stitched ones, and the single photo for 6 sequence shots.  I love the primary colours she's used, and the yellow Pebbles chips coordinate perfectly...such a fun boy layout!

Marielle LeBlanc created this fun layout with the Lil' Buddy collection, using a combination of Pebbles candy dots, chipboard, punched circles and stickers to create the circular element at the top of her layout.  Love those little robots!  Marielle has also flipped the layout to create a mirror image of the original by Susan.

Sophia Allison has put another twist on the cover lift.  Instead of lifting just the layout, she has lifted the whole cover!  Sophia has placed her title at the top of her layout where the magazine's masthead appears, and added journaling strips in place of the magazine contents.  What a great idea!

There you have it.  Four layouts lifted from the cover of a magazine, all different in style.  That's the great thing about taking inspiration from layouts...they're a great jumping off point for you to make a layout your own.  Thanks for dropping by!

Cheers, Lis.

Love is in the Air - Part 2

Susan Dupre must have some really lavish gifts in mind for her loved ones, because these are the tags she created to decorate her wrapped goodies. She used the So Tweet collection along with Pebbles Ribbon to make these little beauties.

Christa Paustenbaugh created this super sweet and yummy card for her loved ones and here is what she had to say about her making her card, "I used my heart punch to create the red and pink hearts from the Linnie Bell and So Tweet papers. Also, I added Pebbles chipboard hearts to the corners as an accent. Then, stitched it up with rubons...super simple!"

Celeste Smith has been decorating her home with this clever heart banner made from the Linnie Bell collection. For something so simple and cute, this little home decor item sure adds a lot of love.

Marielle LeBlanc made this darling card using the Linnie Bell collection. She punched hearts out of the large flowers in the Linnie Bell Patchwork paper and then tied some of the Pebbles Ribbon around the card.

Love is in the Air - Part 1

You Betcha!

The design team has been in a tizzy and practically floating on air while getting ready for a love-filled weekend. To kick it off right, we wanted to share just a few of our Pebbles goodies and projects for this much anticipated holiday.

Beth Root created this fiery Love Box using the Linnie Bell collection with coordinating Pebbles Chips and Ribbon. Just what Beth intends to keep in this box is a mystery to us, but I'm sure it has special meaning for her - wink, wink. Oh Beth - what are you going to put in your Love Box??? Do tell...

Akiko Kuroki must have a serious sweet tooth, because she made this darling little heart-shaped box to hold her favorite sweets - chocolate of course. One of the signature traits of Pebbles collections is how well they mix and match and Akiko used some of the Skipping Along collection along with the Lil' Miss collection. And, instead of a cherry on top, she added a red glittered heart-shaped Chip.

Celeste Smith made this passion-filled card combining the Lil' Miss and Linnie Bell collections. Her addition of a small heart and button adds just the right amount of embellishment to give this card that extra special something that will put a smile on some lucky person this weekend.

I was inspired to create this card while looking at the myriad of Valentine cards in the grocery store. So many choices and too much money to spend. So, I used my Cricut Create to cut various sized hearts with the Don Juan cartridge that came with the machine and I used the solid backsides of the Linnie Bell papers, because they have just the right mixture of red, pinks and peaches to give this card a fun-loving feel. Then I added a glittered flourish Pebbles Chip and some Pebbles Ribbon along with two duplicate Pebbles Rubons. The effect is quite "lovely".

Voila - Love is definitely in the Air. We'll be back on Thursday with some more amorous projects to share.
