First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "LOVE " giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is ...
Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information as well as your choice of Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "LOVE Winner" in the subject line.
Today's "How To" post is brought to you by the very talented LG Belarmino. Here's what LG had to say ... "I love experimenting with my pages. With this layout, I played with my border punches and mists. By doing this, I was able to personalize my page and choose the color combination I wanted (yellow and green)." And here are LG's step by step instructions ...
Today, I would like to share with you a very simple technique that you can apply on your very own page. This technique will maximize the use of your patterned papers because you'll be able to use small leftover scrap papers. Here, I used leftover scraps from the Tree House collection. The materials you will need are your favorite border punch and a big pattern template of your choice (I used a butterfly template).
Step 1: Using your preferred border punch, punch out several strips from a cardstock.
Step 2: Cover the punched areas with your leftover scraps. My color combination here is yellow and green so I alternately used different patterned papers to achieve my desired look.
Step 3: From a 3"x4" cardstock piece, trace your template and cut it out. We will use the negative part instead of the cutout butterfly. Use foam tape as your adhesive and add it around the cutout area. This will give dimension to the design.
Step 4: Adhere the negative cutout to a 3"x4" patterned paper of your choice.
Now, feel free to add these patched items on your pages! Here is my finished layout using the patching technique:
