Whip It Up Wednesday plus a GIVEAWAY!

For today's post I challenged some of our design team members to "whip up" a project using Pebbles products in 30 minutes or less. Check out these fabulous projects that can be created in no time at all!

Design team member Anna Sigga sure knows how to get crafty on a budget ... time budget that is!  Here's what Anna had to say ... "Creating a layout, card or any other project rarely takes me less than 30 min but all those cute establishments from Pebbles make it much easier to stay inside the 30 min frame. I may have cheated a tiny bit by pre-cutting all the papers, but even if I add the "paper cutting time" to my over all time it took me 37 min. I sure hope you can forgive me ;o) The New Arrival collections are so cute and those cute chipboard embellishments really make a simple card pop - and the whale is so darn cute. I had a real hard time "letting go"!! :D"

Design team ember Kristen Swain is a card guru and created this adorable twosome in no time at all!  Here's what Kristen had to say ... "I made both these cards in just 30 minutes. When creating something with a time limit, it helps to have an idea of your design in your head. I also basically kept the paper design the same, cutting pieces and hand cutting the scallop paper in the same manner. I also tried to keep the cards more simple, and using Pebbles Chipboards and layered stickers make the designs look like I spent so much more time creating these cards, when it was just a matter of peeling them off the packaging and sticking them onto the cards!"

Baby Blue Ribbon (744037)

Other supplies used:

Cardstock (American Crafts)

Design team member Suzanne Sergi knows how to pack a lot of punch in a small amount of time.  Here's what Suzanne had to say ... "With Valentine's Day, I needed some last minute Valentine's Cards! The 30 minute timeline was about all I had one afternoon! However, the color palettes of all the collections work so well together, that choosing paper was easy! I paired New Arrival Girl with a paper from Twitterpated to create this card. I loved the premade embellishments, because with a few adjustments, I was able to add a few simple details. With a few layers of paper, and hearts, it gave my card the added dimension I love. All of this came together in 30 minutes!! Finished the card with my favorite crinkled ribbon from Pebbles! A few pieces of paper, premade embellishments, and under 30 minutes, is all it takes to show someone how much you care!"

Submit your comments by Monday at midnight (EST). I'll announce the winner Tuesday morning. Good luck!

Time saving tips:

Although it can be hard sometimes, I like to pick the products I'm using and stick with them. If I don't change my mind all the time, it helps things to go faster when I'm scrapping or crafting.

I love using sketches. Thanks for the chance.

Absolutely beautiful cards from the DT.

Sketches are my go to tool when I am in a hurry! All of the DT cards are beautiful!

Ooh, I love these cards! I can hardly believe they were made in less than half an hour... I love to work with papers that already have a pattern on it, that moves you into a certain direction when scrapbooking...they make it really easy to whip up your layout in no time at all.

Sketches for sure...and good tools (punches, die cutting machines, etc...)

I always clean my craft space after each project. It is easier to create when I know where everything is.

The only time saving tip I have is that when I stamp an image, I always stamp 2 - one to use then and one that goes into an envelope for later use.

Hi my time saving tip is in my craft room, I have coloured folders containing a mixture (oddment) of items of that colour, i.e. papers, buttons, ribbon, brads, etc., and if I dont have much time, I just pick out from that as it is all already colour coordinated! x Leigh x

Try to be organised and know where you've left stuff

Cindy deRosier said...

I use sketches to save time. I also use scraps from my layouts to make cards- everything is already out and coordinated.

using a sketch always saves me time or SLing

Gotta love 30 minute cards! They sure look like they took you longer though. So gorgeous! My tip is an easy one. Buy coordinating paper and embellishments. They already match and look great together, so why reinvent the wheel?

Trying to have everything I need out. Similar color paper scraps, embellishments, and pens. So being more organized is what it all boils down too. LOL Easier said than done sometimes. ;0)

I always have card bases handy and borders that I have cut out of scraps. Then I just need a sketch!

Thanks!

I like to have an idea ahead of time and sometimes using mass production works well for me. Also, my cricut saves me a lot of time!

i really love the baby girl card, so cute!

Olivia said...

Great cards! Love these ideas. I have a hard time being quick when I'm creating so I like to limit my supplies to prevent me from being indecisive. I also keep a little tub of paper & sticker off-cuts as they often proove to be the perfect finishing touch.

Chantal said...

Great stuff! My time saving tip would be to make your own "kit" first with matching and coordinating products so everything's there at your fingertips to get creative! :D

Cindylu2u said...

Awesome job ladies!! I take any scraps and if they're large enough I go ahead and cut them down to mat size for my cards, and have them pre sorted by colors!! Would be awesome to win!!

I have learnt a new trick for saving time and that is to limit my choices. I used to get all my cardstock out etc and spend forever trying to choose the perfect one. Now i may choose five and it has saved me heaps of time. My other timesaver is to accept that things may not be perfect and move on. I hoping between these two things I willget alot more scrapping and cardmaking done.

Great cards too!

What a sweet cards!! I love them all!! I usually draw some images of layout first, it makes things musch easier. (of course sometimes using sketches and scraplifting)

Rebecca said...

Plan ahead--even if it is just an idea that you work out while you're driving home. Then don't require perfection--the nice thing about homemade is that they don't need to look absolutely perfect :) rebecca keppel

I have a binder that I put a sample in of every supply item I own: a snippet of patterned paper, a sample die-cut, images from stamp sets, etc., and a location for where I keep it. I find that it's a HUGE timesaver and a great way to get inspired and I can rediscover things that I haven't used in a while! Thanks for the amazing inspiration from the fab DT!

When using your Cricut, cut multiples! Chances are you're probably going to be using that design again - might as well cut a couple of 'em!

love all the inpiration you give us here...thank you for the chance to win some goodies!

use things already out! often times they're from the last project (or two)- putting them together in a fun new way can be super quick!

Arjanne said...

I'm not a great sleeper, so I lay awake for quite awhile before falling asleep. In that time I think about my next page or project, so when I have actual time to create, I know what to do.

Ann Cicilie said...

Lovely cards! So adorable :)

Time saving tip... Hmmm... Must be to clean up after every project you make, in that way, you always know where to find your stash :)

Apart from that, I don't have any good time saving tips... The most important thing for me is to have fun and a good time while scrapbooking... I do that by making my self a nice cup of liqorice tea, light some candles and perhaps put some good music on :)

Þorbjörg said...

Love the projects! Great job ladies!

Time saving... well, I'm pretty quick most of the time and I think it is due to having my tools well organized and not over-thinking things, just pull a Nike and "Just do it" ;)

Sketches and keeping everything organized!!

Love your cards!!

ruth said...

Create a way to be organized. Then when you have a moment to be creative, you can just grab your supplies (or even scraps), your tools & adhesive and make a card or layout....without having to search.

Celeste B. said...

Beautiful cards. Sketches help me work quicker, plus having all my supplies in front of me that I want to use (of course that can take more than 30 minutes by itself).

TeenaBugg38 said...

I keep my scraps sorted by collection and I always add photos to the bag when I purchase soemthing new. For me the hardest part is usually picking out the photos...so this way I am ready to roll! And when I have bits left over I go ahead and put them in a smaller bag with coordinating elbellies for a quick card when i ahve the tim

Love these!!
I like to use sketches, when I want fast results

Kelly Sas said...

Greatjob DT! Pebbles does make it easy plus you can't help but love to work with such amazing lines. Keep organized; have all scraps in with their match by color or design, keep all tools within reach that you use most often and stick with your plan! This is the way I can stay focused and work fast when needed.

Megan A. said...

gorgeous cards!

I agree that planning is key to saving time. having a sketch premade and an idea of what you want to use really helps

Stephanie Buice said...

My key to saving time is having sketches on hand, either one of my own or one that has inspired me from someone else. Although it's just a guideline it really helps me cut down on time.

Sarah Kramolis said...

Organization! I have to have all of my embellishments and paper ogranized so that it is easy to find what I need.

Deanna said...

Beautiful cards ladies! To save time, I usually use leftover scraps and supplies from a kit. They're usually the perfect sizes to make a card.

Scrapycandy said...

I would suggest making two things at once...a layout and a card, or two layouts...or at least use the computer for journaling, quotes, etc. for multiple layouts, while you are there typing away.

Michelle McClure said...

I find having my supplies organized so that I remember what I have and can find it easily saves me time, especially when I'm trying to start a project. Now I group everything by theme in large ziploc baggies like a kit, instead of by like items.

Aimee (aka carolinagirl) said...

I like to take a day or two to make flowers/embellies so when it comes time to scrapbook, I just pull out my little basket of homemade flowers and embellies...find the one(s) I like.....glue it down to my layout and I'm done!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

Maria said...

I love using sketches and having my supplies well organized it makes crafting so much easier!!!

Thanks for the chance to win.

Kendra K said...

I like to keep my supplies in 12x15 bags that serve as kits and work from a sketch (mine or a lifted one) to save time. I also keep my photos sorted in groups I want to scrap together.

smahrty said...

It's kind of like going to Target with a list of 10 things and coming home with 50! I have to plan in my mind what i am going to do and ONLY get out the supplies needed for that project. Otherwise i am looking and dreaming up a million other projects and never getting the initial one done.

Lisa said...

A great sketch is always a time saver. I love my Cricut too.

I use the divided page protectors for some of my photos, not all can be scrapbooked

If you have a project in mind, have out coordinating embellishments and paper so it is easier to let the ideas flow and get those items onto your project. thanks for the inspiration and the chance to win!

brenda said...

I use a sketch or a picture from a magazine/blog of a project I like to save time, I also try to keep it simple with fewer embellishments.

Sandy Ang said...

I use the products from the same collection which takes the guess work out of what matches.

Pamk said...

I try to work on similar projects so I can use the same stack of supplies for many layouts. like I'd do all xmas for a while the switch to one specific vacation so that I don't have to keep pulling out different supplies. Hopefully I'll get my desk/shelf organized so I dont have to pull stuff out of my closet anymore soon.

SandNscrappin said...

I like to take my photos (as soon as possible after printing) and choose which pics to use for a layout. I then pick out coordinating papers and if I have an idea for the title, I jot it down on a sticky note along with and thoughts I might have on embellishments. I place the paper, photos and sticky note in a 12x12 organizer w/lid. When I'm ready to scrapbook, I don't have to waste time looking through pictures, papers, etc. I can just start on the layout. This is also a very handy system to use if you attend crops as you don't have to cart so many supplies with you.

Melanie said...

I love using sketches! Plus reading blogs and magazines give me great ideas that are quick too!

My time-saving tips are using sketches and drawing inspiration from the wealth of talent to be found in mags and online blogs and galleries. It never takes me long to find something I like!

WOW! Super cute cards--as for tips for easy crafting....try to keep your space clean and put away products/stamps/inks. This seems like a small tip--but it helps A TON when crafting!
