More Mr. & Mrs. Projects with Kristen, Melinda, and Ria

Design team member Kristen Swain created a gorgeous set of cards with The Mr. & Mrs. collection. Here's what Kristen had to say ... "The  Mr. and Mrs. line is gorgeous for weddings. One of my favorite things about this line is the colors, black and white are classic, but the addition of the cream really sets this line apart. It was so easy to create these two cards, they almost created themselves. I love to use berry stems from the floral section of the craft store, you can bend them around a pencil and get a really beautiful look, which is what I did for the Lucky in Love card. The beautiful dimensional stickers and metal flowers made putting the congratulations card come together so quickly, I could have made this into a 30 minutes or less post!"

Design team member Melinda Spinks created a beautiful keepsake for a friend's upcoming wedding.  Here's what Melinda had to say ... "My dear mum asked me to make her a card for friends having their second marriage and she had a little frame that she wanted to give them as a gift. So I put my thinking cap on and combined the two... I made the card so that it would fit inside the frame so they can replace it once they have their wedding photos. After seeing all the gorgeous new embellishments in the Mr. & Mrs. collection I was busting to open the packs and use as many as I could to create the heart for the card. I love clusters of bits and pieces and the heart made the perfect choice for the theme of this card."

If this line was available when I got married, maybe I would have become a scrapbooker much earlier! The papers and embellishments are so easy to mix and match -- my favorite embellishments are the Metal and Felt Flowers and the Pearl Flourishes! This project was the perfect excuse to go through my wedding photos -- my 2 little girls saw them and were tickled at the kissing scenes (lol!)...and proved once again that I married the right man because he said that I look even better now than I did then ... and I believed him, of course!"

Design team member Guiseppa Gubler created a beautiful duo of wedding cards.  Here's what Guiseppa had to say ... "I needed some cute wedding cards to add to my stash, so this assignment was perfect for me.  I really, really love this new wedding collection.  It is a simple but elegant collection and these cards turned out just the way I wanted them to.  I know I will be making more.  This collection makes it so easy!"

Mr. & Mrs. Dimensional Phrases (732042)
Mr. & Mrs. Dimensional Icons (732043)

Design team member Lisa Kisch created not one but two layouts with this collection.  Here's what Lisa had to say ... "I've been married for 7 years, and my wedding album was my first real scrapbook. I spent two years on it, and when it was done I was very proud-- and very sick of wedding papers and embellishments. So, I was pleasantly surprised when the elegant-but-not-stuffy "Mr. and Mrs." line arrived on my doorstep. It gave me the opportunity to go back and scrap some of my wedding photos in my current style-- a far cry from what I was doing in 2003. When working with black and white, I always like to use cardstock to add a punch of colour. Since there is only a hint of cardstock here and there in the design, I went out on limb with two bright, saturated tones. I love how crisp the black and white feels, and, of course, how well it goes with black and white photos."

Here's what Lisa had to say about her second layout ... "After finishing this layout, I had another photo sitting on my desk of me in my wedding dress. I took the scraps from the previous layout and quickly  punched some squares. After adding them to some lightly paint spritzed cardstock, I coloured in the flowers on the white floral paper with pink and yellow chalk.  It's a subtle effect, but well worth it.
This layout took about 20 minutes to finish-- so try making a simple layout from your scraps the next time you finish up a layout!"

The Mr. & Mrs. Week

Happy Monday everyone!  This week on the Pebbles blog we will be featuring the Mr. & Mrs. collection recently released at CHA Winter 2011.  This simple, traditional wedding themed line features a black and white color palette, with a touch of silver and vanilla.  Elegant and functional, this collection is perfect for wedding invitations, decorations and documentation of that special day.

Before we get to the amazing projects some of our design team members have created I first wanted to share with you a video created by American Crafts to help debut this collection.  I absolutely LOVE that American Crafts created this video so you can see each and every product included in the Mr. & Mrs. collection piece by piece.  You can subscribe to the American Crafts You Tube channel by visiting this page and clicking on the yellow "subscribe" button so you will always be up to date on the latest offerings from American Crafts and Pebbles.

And now on to some design team projects.  Design team member Anna Sigga created a pair of wedding cards using this collection.  Here's what Anna had to say ... "The Mr & Mrs. collection is such an elegant and classy line. The papers along with all the stunning embellishments sure make it easy to create an elegant wedding card in no time. I created this pair of wedding cards usin this gorgeous line. I decided to create a set of "his and hers" cards and since wedding cards usually turn out to be quite feminine I had a go at making a more "masculine" one too. What do you think? ;)"

Design team member Suzanne Sergi created a beautiful wedding keepsake.  Here's what Suzanne had to say ... "I have been wanting to create a Wedding Keepsake of my wedding for a long time. Inspired by an open back frame on Pintrest, I knew that a framed decor piece would be perfect! I wanted my keepsake to be on a smaller scale, with just a few snapshots, and touches of wedding decor. I am always drawn to clean lines, and the Mr. & Mrs. collection is full of traditional colors, mixed with a touch of elegance.  I love the flowers embellishments that are in this  collection! Metal, epoxy, and felt flowers are all a part of this line! The Metal flowers are probably my favorite, and are perfect for embellishing your decor projects! My wedding was very traditional, and the Mr. & Mrs. Collection was perfect for creating this framed art!"

"I love love this new collection- Happy Go Lucky- the colors are perfect for spring and summer. I chose some basic photos of my daughter posing on our fence to scrap about her summer days. The hardest choices I had for this layout were to narrow down all the embellishments I wanted to use. I ended up choosing a few potted flowers, a single large flower and a butterfly with flight trail. I also stuck in a couple of those adorable toothpick flags for a little extra touch. I’m particularly excited about Happy Go Lucky because it’s just so ‘me’...the colours are bright and fun but still quite soft, and the patterns on the paper are just yummy! And don’t even get me started on the embellishments...just incredible. When I saw the cloud paper from the collection, I knew I wanted to scrap this photo of me and my brother because I thought the sky in the background matched the paper so well! First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "Ever After" giveaway.  Thank you all so much for your comments.  And the lucky winner is ...

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information as well as your choice of Pebbles collection to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "Ever After Winner" in the subject line.

Design team member Christa Paustenbaugh created this really fun layout that shows this spring inspired collection works for other seasons as well.  Here's what Christa had to say ... "I absolutely love the colors in this new collection.  I normally don't scrap very much purple in my layouts, but this one not only worked, but really pulled out the greens and oranges as well.  And the embellishments are so fun with this line.  I used the Slice and made various sizes of flowers to layer then adhere with a fabric brad."
